About Clinic Selnau
Clinic Selnau is a specialised group practice in the centre of Zurich: each physician deliberately focuses on one clearly defined specialty rather than covering the full spectrum. This focus shapes how an indication is assessed and a procedure is planned, always with the goal of respecting each person's individual anatomy and changing only what genuinely benefits from it — to a high specialist standard.
Surgery and Measurability
How do you make medical quality visible?
Dr. med. Paul Georg studied medicine at Hannover Medical School and carried out his doctoral research at St. Thomas' Hospital / King's College London — developing a method for objectively measuring outcomes of cleft lip and palate surgery, using 3D photography and a self-defined facial symmetry index.
Years in surgery followed at Kantonsspital Münsterlingen (general surgery, intensive care, hand and plastic surgery), along with a placement abroad at New Somerset Hospital in Cape Town.
Dermatology became his professional home: further training at the Skin and Laser Centre Weinfelden, the University Dermatology Clinic at Inselspital Bern, and the Bellevue Vein Clinic Kreuzlingen. As head of the wound care clinic at Spital Affoltern am Albis, he developed a semi-automated algorithm for digital wound measurement, published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine in 2024. He is a founding member and board member of the EWMA European Young Wound Experts Group.
2026: Board examination in Dermatology and Venereology (FMH) and founding of Dermetrics.
